ABOUT US

Inner Action supports athletes, professionals, leaders, coaches, teams, and individuals to strengthen the mental side of their performance and train beyond the physical.
We work with people across all levels and stages, from developing athletes through to elite performers, as well as artists, leaders, coaches, performers, and individuals navigating high-pressure environments where performance matters.
Whether the focus is performance, wellbeing, or both, our approach recognises that how you think, feel, and behave plays a central role in how you perform and live. We believe that understanding and learning to work with your internal world gives you the power to thrive.
At Inner Action, we see psychology not as something you only turn to when things go wrong, but as a core part of training. Just like physical preparation, deliberate practice to enhance psychological flexibility can be integrated into training, rehearsal, development and competition.
Our work focuses on developing psychological flexibility: the ability to stay present, open to internal experience, and take committed action in line with what matters most, even when pressure, doubt, or discomfort show up. This is what allows people to perform with clarity, consistency, and control when it counts.
This shows up in performance through areas such as:
- Regulating arousal and emotional intensity under pressure- Directing and sustaining attention when it matters most- Building confidence and trust in performance under uncertainty- Staying committed to standards, process, and discipline over time- Maintaining composure and clarity in high-pressure moments- Making clear decisions within fast, complex environments- Resetting and adapting effectively after setbacks
Alongside this, we support people through the real human challenges that come with high performance environments, including injury and return to play, performance slumps, role transitions, identity beyond performance, and navigating expectations and pressure.
Our work extends beyond the individual. We collaborate closely with coaches, support staff, and multidisciplinary or leadership teams to embed psychological principles into daily training environments. The goal is to make performance psychology practical, visible, and consistent. We don't want performance psychology to be just something that's talked about, but something that's lived in training and performance contexts.
We also support individuals with their mental health and wellbeing, working with concerns such as anxiety, stress, burnout, perfectionism, OCD, eating disorders, and relationship or life challenges. Our focus is not only on reducing distress, but on supporting sustainable change that enhances overall functioning, wellbeing, and performance.
At the core of our philosophy is this: when people learn to relate differently to their internal experience, and take action based on what truly matters to them, they create the conditions to perform at their best and live with greater depth, clarity, and purpose.
Inner Action acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we live and work. We pay our respects to Elders past and present, and recognise that sovereignty was never ceded.
